教育の目的や学校の存在理由を考える時、いつもこの一文が頭に浮かびます。教育の仕事に直接に関わる人々、言葉を換えれば、子どもたちや学習者の知的・社会的成長に直接的な責任を持つ人々は、教育や学校のありかたについて常に深く考察し、より良い実践を続けるという使命感を持っています。そして社会もそのような専門的態度を期待しています。多くの人々が改革の必然性を実感し原動力になることで、学校や学習活動をより良いものに改革していくことが可能になります。
この講座は21世紀の社会の変化と人間の生活への影響を明確にとらえて、学校教育の進むべき方向やあるべきすがたを探る営みです。学習の内容、方法、形態、評価、学習環境などにわたる総合的な考察、議論、実証という系統性・持続性のある実践研究を中核にしています。講座に参加される先生方がお互いに学び合い、専門性を高め、より良い実践者として学校や教室での教育活動を改革していくリーダーシップを発揮されることを願っています。
