Respectful and ethical

「良くも悪くも、私は "多重知性 “という概念に関係している。人間にはさまざまな知的強みがあり、どの知性が優れているかは人によって異なるという確信である。」

最近のBlogでHoward Gardnerはこのように自分の立場を明確にして、「21世紀の第二四半期の教育」というエッセイを書いています。「世界の他の分野に比べて、教育は非常にゆっくりと変化している」(Howard Gardner) 、その教育がAIをはじめとするテクノロジー、最新の兵器、気候変動などの影響を受けて再考察の時期を迎えているという認識に基づいています。

Howard Gardnerが1983年に発表したMultiple Intelligences理論は、人間の能力や知性を広く豊かにとらえると同時に、学習のあり方について根本的な視点の転換を示唆しました。「個別化」と「多元化」です。


"By individualising, I mean that the educator should know as much as possible about the 'intelligences profile' of each student for whom he has responsibility; and, to the extent possible, the educator should teach and assess in ways that bring our that child's capacities. By pluralising, I meant that the educator should decide on which topics, concepts, or ideas are of greatest importance, and should then present them in a variety of ways. Pluralisation achieves two important goals: when a topic is taught in multiple ways, one reaches more students. Additionally, the multiple modes of delivery convey what it means to understand something well. When one has a thorough understanding of a topic, one can typically think of it in several ways, thereby making use of one's multiple intelligences.” Howard Gardner (2011) Multiple Intelligences : The First Thirty Years


「ある単元を複数の方法で教えることで、より多くの生徒の理解を得ることができる。さらに、複数の方法で教えることで、何かをよく理解するということの意味を生徒に伝えることができる。学習単元を十分に理解すれば、課題について複数の方法で考えることができる。」


質問です。
①　理想的な学習活動は、学習者一人ひとりに合った個別化や多元化(複数化)が必要条件であるという考えに共感できますか。
②　学習に活用するテクノロジーの中で個別化や多元化(複数化)を可能にするものがあるでしょうか。子どもたちの学習活動は個別化や多元化(複数化)が現実のものとなっているでしょうか。


Howard Gardnerは認知心理学者としての立場から少し離れて、近未来に必要な資質として20年前に次の5つを挙げています。

①思考力、問題解決能力　②様々な情報をつなぎ合わせて自分だけでなく他の人にも有益な意味を形成する能力　③課題を認識し新しい解決策を創りあげる能力　④敬意を持って人と接する能力　⑤困なんで厄介なジレンマや課題を対処する方法を見つける能力 　Howard Gardner (2005) Five Minds for the Future

前掲のBlogではそのことに触れて、
"I still endorse and value these three kinds of minds. But today, a quarter of a century later, I would prioritise the two other minds—ones that determine how we relate to other individuals. They include the respectful mind—the way that we deal with those with whom we come in regular contact; and the ethical mind—the way in which we deal with difficult, vexing dilemmas—ones that we cannot easily articulate and solve.” Howard Gardner (2025)
Respectful mindとEthical mindを他の3つよりも優先するという考え。まさにこの時代を象徴していると感じました。
